LITTLE FALLS -- James "Jim" M. Fox, 62, LIttle Falls, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls of cancer.
He was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Little Falls to Nicholas and Marie (Ortman) Fox. He graduated from high school in Melrose in 1957. He graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1961 with a degree in speech pathology. He married Janice "Jan" M. Hoppe on June 20, 1964, in Melrose. He worked at Lindbergh Elementary School in Little Falls as a speech pathologist for 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Lindyland Cordmens Barbershoppers, Morrison County Historical Society and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls where he served as a eucharist minister, sang in the church choir and served on St. Mary's school board and St. Mary's Church Council.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Stephanie Winkelman, Cambridge, Susan Blake, Zimmerman, Jill Williams, Topanga, Calif., Jennifer Oelrich, Barstow, Calif., and Jessica Fox, St. Paul; a son, Michael Fox, Collegeville; two grandchildren; a brother, John Fox, Clearwater; and five sisters, Mary Kay Pankow, Bloomington, Joan Kuhn, Rosemount, Carol Kellner, Devils Lake, N.D., Jeneva Huerd, Bloomington, and Deborah Kociemba, Poway, Calif.
His parents and a brother, Fredrick Fox, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls. Memorials are preferred to Morrison County Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday, with parish prayers at 5 p.m., rosary at 6:30 p.m. and music by the Lindyland Cordsmen at 7:30 p.m., and from 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
