TORONTO (AP) -- Add captain Mats Sundin to the Toronto Maple Leafs' long list of injured players.

Sundin was hit in the mouth by a puck on a clearing attempt by teammate Ric Jackman in the first period of the Maple Leafs' 2-1 victory over Minnesota on Thursday night.

Coach Pat Quinn said Sundin will miss at least the last game of the regular season, Saturday night at home against Ottawa.

"He had extensive damage to his lip, his teeth and gums," Quinn said. "He needs some root canals done and he had a permanent plate that was busted, plus he had two other teeth affected. He got a real good whack."

The Maple Leafs are already missing Gary Roberts, Doug Gilmour, Tom Fitzgerald, Shayne Corson, Travis Green, Phil Housley and Glen Wesley because of injuries.

"He's going to miss the next little while, certainly Saturday. We'll have to stay on top of the swelling and his ability to put sustenance in his system," Quinn said.

Mikael Renberg, returning after missing three games with a strained hamstring, scored Toronto's first goal.

"It seemed like the puck hit Mats pretty hard. Hopefully, it's not too bad," Renberg said.

Aki Berg scored on a slap shot from the faceoff circle with 3:53 remaining in regulation as Leafs won their fourth straight.

Ed Belfour, who recorded his 400th career win Tuesday, made 20 saves for the Maple Leafs, who are unbeaten in their last five (5-0-1). Fans chanted "Eddie! Eddie!" throughout the third period.

Belfour, who signed with the Maple Leafs after Curtis Joseph left for Detroit, was 21-27-11 last season with Dallas, but is 37-20-5 this season, and 401-262-105 overall in 15 seasons.

His 37th win lifted him past Joseph for the club record.
