Slippery roads cause rash of accidents
The slick roads from Thursday's snow resulted in several accidents around the area, including a two-car collision at 11:54 a.m. Thursday on the Highway 210 overpass in Baxter.
One driver, Asia Lee Gaslin, 19, Staples, was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. No condition information was available. The other driver, Lori Ann Hodge, 33, Baxter, was not injured, according to the Baxter Police Department.
The Brainerd State Patrol investigated 27 accidents Thursday, six resulting in injuries.
The State Patrol was called to a one-vehicle rollover at 6:13 a.m. Thursday on Highway 27 eight miles east of Lastrup. The driver, Michelle Hanneken, 28, Pierz, was treated at the Mille Lacs hospital and released.
The Detroit Lakes State Patrol reported several rollovers Thursday. The Wadena County Sheriff's Department investigated two rollovers this morning.
The Brainerd DNR office reported .5 inch of snow in Brainerd this morning.
The National Weather Service in Duluth expects party cloudy conditions with a 40 percent chance of snow, highs 27-32 and northeast winds at 10-15 mph in Brainerd today. Tonight's forecast is partly cloudy with flurries, lows 10-15 and northeast winds at 10-15 mph.
