The Brainerd Family YMCA will hold a Red Cross lifeguard training class starting April 12.
Upon completion of the course, participants will have gained knowledge of lifeguarding and will be qualified to lifeguard at most pool facilities.
Cost, including books and CPR mask, is $180. Registration deadline is April 10. Class size is limited.

Wadena antique/ collectible show set
WADENA -- The Wadena County Senior Council, as well as the Wadena County Historical Society and the England Prairie Pioneer Club, will host a Wadena area antique/collectible show from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 11 at the Wadena National Guard Armory, Highway 71 North in Wadena.
Bring antiques and display them inside the armory for the general public to see. Participants are responsible for their own displays.
Area collectors will give visitors a cursory appraisal for one item. One cursory appraisal per person. A cursory appraisal cannot be used as an authentic appraisal because the appraisals are done in just a few minutes.
Lunch will be available at the armory. Door prizes will be awarded.
Tickets are $2.50 and available at the door.
Club offers bus to Festival of Nations
The Central Lakes College Spanish Club is sponsoring a bus to the Festival of Nations on Saturday, April 27.
The 42-seat, chartered coach will leave the Brainerd campus at 8 a.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. Cost for non- students is $10 for the bus transportation plus $9 admission to the event in St. Paul.
A limited number of seats remain. To reserve a seat, individuals should pay the transportation fee to Jan Kurtz or Liliana Hennis at the college. They can be reached at 855-8183.
