BAXTER -- By the end of the year, businesses should be able to begin filling Phase III of Baxter's Industrial Park.
The city council on Tuesday approved the promotion and sale of lots in addition to the industrial park.
The council also approved the installation of a sign for the addition depicting the plat of the industrial park and available lots. Occupancy will be allowed and closing on the property completed only after the installation infrastructure is completed.
Arcon Construction of Harris was the low bidder at $1,415,000. Construction on infrastructure will begin this spring with completion expected to be in September.
Two businesses, TEAM Industries Baxter, Inc., and Lindar, Inc., are already in the process of putting together purchase agreements to buy Phase III lots.
The city council has also passed covenants -- architectural and building requirements -- concerning how buildings in the Industrial Park will look.
The covenants states: "All exterior wall surfaces on the front side of the building shall be faced with brick, stone, glass, stucco, architecturally treated concrete cast in place or pre-cast panels, decorative block, with a maximum of 30 percent architectural metal with concealed fasteners, or approved equivalent, as determined by the Zoning Administrator. Architectural metal on the entire building shall have a minimum of a 20-year paint warranty."
