Just before 9 a.m. today Brainerd police officers responded to a report of a submerged car in the Mississippi River, just off the boat landing near Evergreen Cemetery.
The vehicle, with nothing but its roof and ice-covered antenna sticking out of the water, was about 30 feet off shore, 75 feet downstream from the boat landing.
It was not known how long the car had been there. Brainerd Police Chief John Bolduc today said the vehicle would be towed out of the river.
