Terri Denise Tomlinson, 48, passed away peacefully Monday, March 30, 2009, after a long and brave battle with cancer.
Terri was known to many for her bright smile, infectious laughter, delightful sense of humor, deep love for family and her positive attitude throughout her life and throughout her battle.
She was born July 29, 1960, in Bloomington, Minn., graduated from Jefferson High School and Concordia College in Moorhead with a bachelor of arts in biology and psychology. On June 21, 1985, she married Jon Tomlinson with whom she had two wonderful children - Cassie and Joe - and a highly energetic yellow Lab named Jackson. She worked for Northwestern National Life in Minneapolis and, most recently for the Brainerd Public Schools where she worked as an administrative assistant. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed each day whether it was spending time with friends and family, spending summers at the lake on a float, shopping, eating or heading out on the road as a devoted hockey mom.

She is survived by her husband, Jon; children, Cassie and Joe; mother, Donnis (Helland) Olson, Bloomington; brothers, Mike Olson, of Bloomington, Jeff and Lisa Olson and daughter, Calli, of Edina, Steve and Lori Olson and daughter, Evelyn, of Minneapolis; in-laws Darrel and Phoebe Tomlinson, of Detroit Lakes; sisters-in-law, Tammy and Mark Kath and children Josh, Chelsea, Lexi and Jordan, of Lakeville, Kristi and Tim Schutz, of Monument, Colo., children Sarah and Brent Hedrick, Jacob, Eli and Jessica and Jessica's son Izayah, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Melissa Tomlinson and Rachel Asleson, of Fargo, N.D.; friend, Susan Herda, of Anoka; and countless others who were lucky to have spent time with Terri during her life.
Terri was preceded in death by her father, Rolland Olson.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church.
