WALKER - When Cass County moved many of the county's inmates to the new Crow Wing County jail last July, the need for nursing services at the jail in Walker dropped.

APRIL 2 - 40 years ago (1968) - Fifty-seven Washington High School seniors have been named as honor graduates: 16 with distinction. The class of 1968 will graduate 57 students with honors, as compared with 45 last year.

Committee approves increased fees for school athletics, activities
Warrior Way Inc. representatives were applauded not once but twice by Brainerd School Board members Wednesday for meeting their minimum goal of raising $220,000 to save all sports and many activities in the district. The money will be used to offset participation fees for students who can't afford them.

I have many fond memories of BHS 10th grade girls' "Glee Club" choir and two years of a cappella choir. Prior to that, I had fifth-sixth grade choir and three years of junior high school choir. I still enjoy music today and have used it in many areas of my life.

When we look back at the Iraq war, the thing that will haunt us will be the unnecessary loss of life and opportunity. The body count rises and it is a shame to think that these young people gave their lives in a unnecessary and ill conceived war. When I look at the amount of money spent, I am outraged. several hundred billion!
