20 years ago (1985)

The Nisswa Legion will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday. All Nisswa area children through age 12 are invited.

30 years ago (1975)

It would appear that chances to obtain a federal grant to tear down the old Ransford Hotel building are very slim at best. Every day the building remains standing is another day when it could become a holocaust.

40 years ago (1965)

Brainerd area men were called on by Bill Olmsted, chairman of the Brainerd Paul Bunyan carnival here June 18, 19 and 20, to begin growing beards for the beard-growing contest which will be a part of the event.

60 years ago (1945)

Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Smith have moved from the apartment in the Reilly block to 712 North Seventh Street, where they will have the house formerly occupied by Dr. Nesmith Nelson.

Sheriff Erickson is understood to have a good clue to the robbers who entered the Fingerson Store at Merrifield and is hitting the trail after the culprits.
