BAXTER -- Joyce M. Kientzle, 38, Baxter, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at home in Baxter.
She was born July 14, 1965, in Eldon, Iowa, to John and Jeane (Haywood) Blanchard. She graduated from Akeley High School in 1983 and the Crookston Technical College with a degree in horticulture. Joyce married Thomas M. Kientzle on Nov. 22, 1986, in Brainerd. Joyce loved her children: Ashley, Thomas, Amy and Daniel. She loved to garden, decorate her home, try new recipes and stamp. Joyce always wanted to make her home a special place for her family and friends. She was an active member at First Baptist Church serving in the nursery, children's churches and the kitchen. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that Joyce is with her Savior in Heaven and they know they will one day see her again.
Survived by her husband, Thomas of Baxter; her children, Ashley, Thomas, Amy and Daniel, Baxter; her sister, Judy Mickelson of Creston, Iowa; and her brothers, Jay (Nikki) Blanchard of Gilbert, Ariz., Jon (Meg) Blanchard of Tallahassee, Fla., Jack (Gail) Blanchard of Gilbert, Ariz., Joe (Lorraine) Blanchard of Prairie, Idaho, and Jeff (Lisa) Blanchard of San Jose, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be Saturday, April 3, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Baxter with Pastor David Grotzke officiating. Friends may call on Friday, April 2, 2004, from 4-7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Baxter and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in the name of the Kientzle children.
Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home, Brainerd.
