Mother Nature pulled the first trick of April Fool's Day by dropping 8 inches of wet snow on the Brainerd area Sunday nigh. Highways were reported open but slippery.

Razing of buildings on the west side of South 6th Street north of Maple Street, in preparation for the new construction of a new building to house the First National Bank will begin about April 15.

The why and how Brainerd lakes are becoming more attractive to the summer tourist angler was outlined to prospective vacationers this morning through a courtesy broadcast granted the Brainerd Civic Association over KSTP from the new Brainerd Hotel.

One of the most disastrous catastrophes for some time on the rivers in this vicinity occurred this morning when the largest bridges in Morrison County on the Crow Wing and Mississippi Rivers went out as a result of a sudden and unprecedented rise of water.
