Brainerd police

ASSAULT -- A 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday for second-degree assault after it was reported he stabbed an 18-year-old man in the back with a small knife at a residence near Franklin Junior High School. The two had been in an altercation, the police department reported. The victim, Timothy Wilcox, was treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center for a wound on his upper back and released. His injuries weren't life-threatening, said Brainerd Police Capt. Lyman Dahl. The suspect is being held in the Crow Wing County Jail. He was also wanted on outstanding warrant in Crow Wing and Cass counties for domestic assault.

THEFT -- Jennifer Arnold, 1000 block of Norwood Street, Tuesday reported the theft of $1,000 from her apartment.
