Firearms safety training will begin May 2 through 18. Evening classes begin at 6-9 p.m. Call 829-7582 to register.

Chapter C.J. of P.E.O.

Chapter C.J. of P.E.O. will meet at noon Tuesday at the home of Kathy Buxton.

Chapter DV, P.E.O.

Chapter DV, P.E.O. will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of LaVonne Neff with Joanne Hershey assisting. Program: Ruth Hitz and Bobbie Wiewel.

Senior dances

There will be a senior dance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brainerd Legion. Music by Lyle Cline.

DEERWOOD -- There will be a senior dance at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Deerwood Legion. Music by Country Pride.

Retired Cooks

Retired cooks will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Northwest Pizza.

Ray's Promenaders

Ray's Promenaders invite area dancers to join us to square dance Friday at Baxter Elementary School. Mike McGuire will be calling from 8-10 p.m. Mardy and Elmer Edin will host the potluck lunch. Ray's members are reminded that there will be a business meeting at 7:15 p.m. before the dance.

Potlatch Retirees

Potlatch retirees will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the NE Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch and games.

Aadzuhman Shrine Club meeting will be noon Monday in the Shrine Club room. Board meeting at 10 a.m. and soup and sandwich at noon.

Auxiliary to the Shrine Hospital for Children

The Brainerd Auxiliary to the Shrine Hospital for Children will meet at noon Monday at Masonic Hall. Plans will be made for the 50th anniversary of the organization in Brainerd. It will be from 2-4 p.m. May 7 at the Masonic Hall. All members and past members of the Auxiliary are invited to attend. For further information on the anniversary, call Shirley Hauck at 829-9127. Florence Rebekah Lodge 111

Florence Rebekah Lodge 111 will meet at 3 p.m. Monday for a meeting and luncheon in the North Room at Salvation Army Hall. Hostesses for the day are Patricia Oliver, Becky Young, Blanche Sticha, Eva Young and Elmira Lamont.

American Legion and Auxiliary meeting

The Post and the Auxiliary will meet Monday for their dinner meeting. The Auxiliary Executive Committee will meet at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. with Post and Unit meetings to follow.

Legion dinner

The Brainerd American Legion will be serving a 10 ounce New York Strip, salad, potato and roll from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday. Extrands, Haucks and Zelinski are the cooks. All members are invited and guests are welcomed. Call in orders at 829-2249.

The Marriage of Figaro

The Lakes Area Senior Activity Center is hosting a bus trip to the Ordway Music Theatre to see "The Marriage of Figaro" with departure time at 10 a.m. from Franklin School lot on May 16. Return time is midnight. Cost: $65 for center members and $80 for non-members. Cost of the trip includes coach bus, shopping at Rosedale, pre-performance opera review, show and bus driver tip. Encore Arts

Community Education and Brainerd YMCA will present the Children's Art Fair at 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Brainerd High School. There will be demonstrations and classes in various art forms for children of grade school age. There will also be entertainment and food available.

Mission Possible Senior Club

The Mission Possible Senior Club will meet at noon Wednesday at the Mission Town Hall. A potluck lunch will be followed by speaker Alden Hardwick of Habitat for Humanity.

Eidenshink benefit dinner

There will be a spaghetti dinner for Jim Eidenshink, who is a lung transplant candidate, from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Little Falls VFW. Silent auction will be from 4-8 p.m. Cost: $5 for adults, $3 for children 5-12 and free for children under 5. Donations may be sent to Community First, Jim Eidenshink Fund, 65 East Broadway, PO Box 210, Little Falls, MN 56345.

Lutheran Brotherhood, Morrison County Branch No. 8380, matching funds up to $500 through its Disaster Relief Fund. Matching funds up to $1000 through Aid Association for Lutherans Branch No. 9509.

League of Women Voters

The League of Minnesota Voters will meet from noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd Public Library. The subject is "The Farm Crisis: why should we care." Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 828-9329.

55 Alive driving class

The American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a 4 hour refresher class from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. April 10 at the American Legion Club rooms in Pine River. Presenter will be Leo Furnstahl. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Please be prompt so that class can start and finish on time. Cost: $10 per person to be paid the day of class. To register, call 587-4824.
