BILLINGS, Mont. -- Gordon R. Cook Sr., 82, Billings, Mont., and formerly of Brainerd, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Western Manor Health Care Center in Billings, Mont.
He was born Dec. 26, 1917, in Fort Ripley to Ray and Clara (Stickle) Cook. He attended schools in Brainerd and helped deliver milk for the Cook Dairy Farm. He worked at Northern Pacific Railroad in Brainerd. He married Esther Olson Sept. 16, 1943, in Brainerd. They lived south of Brainerd until 1961 when he transferred to Laurel, Mont. He later retired from Burlington Northern Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Esther; three daughters, Nancy Lee Voorhees, Silesia, Mont., Marianne Evans, Tacoma, Wash., and Sandra Smith, Indianapolis, Ind.; three sons, Gordon Jr., David and Arne, all of Billings, Mont.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Herbert Cook, Alta, Iowa; and two sisters, Elaine Olson, Phoenix, and Margaret Stenzinger, St. Paul.
Services were March 16 in Billings, Mont.
