Bill Wessler

Bill Wessler, 73, Brainerd, died March 28, 2007, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m., at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be in Washington, Iowa.

William L. Wessler was born in Burlington, Iowa, June 4, 1933. He received his bachelor of arts degree in psychology at the University of Oklahoma in Enid and became a social worker in Enid. He later moved to New York to pursue an acting career. He was in the movies "Serpico" and "Kramer vs. Kramer," as well as other movies. He sang with the King Family Singers and in operas with Beverly Sills. He always said his claim to fame was singing to Lauren Bacall. He is a special friend of the Ferrell and Corrick families.
