NISSWA - Douglas Ebert, age 67, of Nisswa, passed away at home Wednesday, March 28, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 28, 1939, in Minneapolis to Arthur and Verna Ebert. Doug enjoyed a full life. He played clarinet in a televised dance band, competed in downhill skiing competitions and was a licensed pilot. He was an avid water skier, particularly enjoying trick and barefoot skiing and loved bowling with the senior league. Doug served as plumbing inspector in Spring Lake Park. Before retirement, he designed and built his Nisswa home. He was also an active SAL member of the Nisswa American Legion and spent hours volunteering for their many worthy causes.
He is survived by his wife, Deann; children, Wayne Ebert, Brian Ebert (Liz), Jan Rice (Jim); mother, Verna Ebert; DeLores Ebert; brother, Wayne Ebert; nine grandchildren; and 11 1/2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration will be 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, with Pastor Dave Uhrich sharing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
