Florence L. Mullenix

STAPLES -- Florence L. Mullenix, 88, Staples, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005. She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Pequot Lakes, Minn., to Fingar and Alena (Pederson) Brenno.

She and her husband had a dairy farm where she raised nine children. When they were older she also cleaned cabins.

She is survived by her sons, Darrell, of Brainerd, Gary, of Brainerd, Arlyn, of Wadena, Rodney (Debra), of Crosslake, and Ricky (Alice), of Pillager; her daughters, Marlys (Melvin) Walli, of New Hope, Minn., Dianne (Vern) Michelson, of Bloomington, Minn., Myrna (Norman) Loren, of Ogilvie, Minn., and Darla (Carl) Serres, of Asheville, N.C.; her brother, Edwin Brenno, of Pine River, Minn.; her sisters, Norma (Don) Davis, of Battleground, Wash., and Mildred (Larry) Martin, of Vancouver, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry.

Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd with Pastor Jim Goodew officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, March 31, 2005, from 5-7 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
