Myears' next hearing set for June 21 in murder case

Posted: Wednesday, March 30, 2005

The next court hearing for William Myears, the 26-year-old Brainerd man accused of the 2002 murder of 21-year-old Erika Dalquist, has been set for June 21.

The date was agreed to during a brief scheduling conference Tuesday in Crow Wing County District Court by County Attorney Don Ryan, who is prosecuting the case, and Greg Larson, Myears' attorney.

Judge Richard Zimmerman gave the attorneys until mid-April to file motions for the next court hearing.

Myears didn't appear in court Tuesday. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Myears remains in Crow Wing County's custody but since late July has been hospitalized at a Department of Corrections hospital in Oak Park Heights with an undisclosed illness.
