If you're still a non-believer, if you doubt that spring is truly here to stay, a walk through Chuck Johnson's property on the west side of Gull Lake would probably convince you. In those woods, the sap collected from 100 maple trees is being simmered and slowly processed with maple syrup.

Twenty-three World War I veterans were honored at a dinner meeting at the Brainerd American Legion Club. The World War I veterans were greeted by Legion Commander Bob Anderson.

40 years ago (1974)

Pastor C.E. Hoversten formerly of Barnesville, will assume the pastorate at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd at the beginning of April.

60 years ago (1964)

Contribution of one day old cafe receipts together with a contribution by the waitresses of one day's pay, was made to the Crow Wing County Chapter's Red Cross fund drive today by the Land O'Lakes Cafes.

80 years ago (1924)

Willie, "Say, pop, did they have a board of education when you went to school?"
