Rose Jansen

BACKUS -- Rose Jansen, age 87, of Backus, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004, at her home. She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Becker County, Minn., to Anton and Mary (Misek) Steffel.

Rose loved her flower garden and took great joy when people stopped to look at her beautiful flowers. She met many of her friends this way. She is survived by her husband John; two daughters Elizabeth King (Robert) of Rockville, Md., and Paulette Jansen (Sarah) of San Diego; one son, Lynn Jansen (Suzanne) of Ames, Iowa; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Backus with Father George Zeck officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
