LITTLE FALLS -- St. Gabriel's Hospital Auxiliary has scheduled the fifth-annual "Ride for Unity" bike ride for July 1.
Two loops have been laid out for bicycling participants. The first loop is 26 miles and makes a great family ride as it is on mostly flat terrain along the Mississippi River and through Charles Lindberg State Park.
The second loop is 47 miles through rolling countryside to Pierz Fish Lake (yes, bring your swimsuit) then travel along beautiful country roads to Royalton and follow the Mississippi River on your return to Little Falls. Both loops begin and end at St. Gabriel's Hospital. Parking is available at the start area. The rest stops will have fresh fruit, drink, and snacks to keep you energized; featuring fresh muffins and coffee at registration. Both routes will be staffed with patrolling SAG vehicles. A bicycle mechanic will be on hand for any unexpected problems.
The entry fee is $20 for early registration, on or before June 15, and $25 on the day of the event. The fee is $10 for children under 13 when accompanied by an adult. A new feature this year is team registration. Form a team of 10 or more riders and registration is only $15 each. Individuals earning $150 or more in pledge money will receive a gift certificate.
Proceeds from this ride will be donated to Unity Family Health Care and St. Gabriel's Hospital as they continue to work to meet the needs of changing health care and ensure quality health care to all citizens of Morrison County.
Registration forms are available at St. Gabriel's Gift Shop or the Little Falls Chamber of Commerce (800-325-5916). Further information can be obtained by calling 320-632-3491.
