Vikings' Bennett injures left foot

Posted: Friday, March 28, 2003

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Vikings running back Michael Bennett will have his injured left foot evaluated by the team on Friday.

Vikings spokesman Bob Hagan confirmed Bennett was hurt. He said he did not know how seriously, when or how the player was injured.

A message left with Bennett's agent, Patrick Dye, was not immediately returned.

Last season, Bennett became the first Vikings running back to play in the Pro Bowl since Robert Smith in 1998.

Bennett rushed for five touchdowns and 1,296 yards last season, his second in the NFL after being drafted by the Vikings in the first round out of Wisconsin in 2001. He tied for third on the team with 37 receptions and ranked third in the NFC in yards rushing.
