'Pet' project

St. Cloud band Collective Unconscious will celebrate one of the most influential albums of all time by covering the songs from the Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" at 7 p.m. Friday at Little Falls High School's Martin Auditorium. Tickets are $10-$24.

Light up the night

Gordon Lightfoot, the Canadian singer/songwriter known for "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," will take the stage at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs Events & Convention Center north of Onamia. Tickets are $29-$36.

Riding high

Nashville, Tenn., legends Riders in the Sky (left) will aim to keep the cowboy music flame burning with comedy-laden shows at 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday at Centennial Auditorium in Staples. Tickets are $12.50-$30.

Flashes of knowledge

Learn how to take better pictures at the annual day of "Picturing" workshops from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday at the Franklin Arts Center in Brainerd. Cost is $25 for adults and $10 for students. For those attending only the reception (at 5 p.m. in the FAC's Crossing gallery), admission is $10.
