Little Falls to host Central Lakes Music Festival

LITTLE FALLS -- The 17th annual Central Lakes Music Festival will be Friday, hosted by Little Falls High School.

Visiting schools and music groups performing during the day will include choirs, orchestras and bands from Brainerd, Little Falls, Alexandria, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Tech and Rocori high schools.

The concerts will begin at noon with orchestras performing in the middle school commons, choirs in the Lindbergh Performing Arts Center and bands in the Charles Martin auditorium. All day concerts are free and open to the public.

The Honors Concert will be 7 p.m. Friday in the Little Falls High School gymnasium.

The Honors Concert will feature the top 10-15 musicians from each performing organization of each school, representing the 100-member All Conference Band, 90-piece All Conference Choir and 70-member All Conference Orchestra. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.

Clinicians and conductors are Richard Heidel, wind ensemble conductor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Nobu Yasuda, orchestra conductor at UW-Eau Claire; and David Dickau, choral conductor at the Minnesota State University-Mankato.
