The Bowling Green State University men's hockey team raised $7,859 on March 1 for the Peter Eigner Benefit Fund when the Falcons hosted defending national champion Michigan State.
Peter Eigner is the son of Brainerd High School boys' hockey coach Ty Eigner, a Bowling Green hockey alum (1988-93).
Peter is battling neuroblastoma cancer. He was diagnosed on Aug. 17, 2006.
Peter and his family traveled to Bowling Green and attended the hockey game. Prior to the opening faceoff, Peter dropped the ceremonial first puck.
