Region Five Development Commission elects members
STAPLES -- The Region Five Development Commission announced six newly elected members to the North Central Economic Development Association full corporation.
They were elected at the March 17 semi-annual meeting at Sibley Station in Pequot Lakes. Newly elected board members include Cy Struss, Cass County; Patrick Rafferty, Cass County Economic Development; Rene Wright, Cass County municipalities; Julie Baum, Todd County; Bruce Nelson, Todd County municipalities; and Bonnie Kile, Crow Wing County.
The NCEDA full corporation consists of three representatives from each of the five counties. There is one county representative, one municipal representative and one economic development representative per county. Members serve for two three-year terms. The NCEDA is the non-profit corporation established to operate the Region Five Revolving Loan Fund for business development in Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties.
There is currently just less than half a million dollars in gap financing available for business start-up or expansion projects in the region.
