FARGO, N.D. -- Delbert "Del" Edward LeDoux, 89, Fargo, N.D., formerly of Brainerd, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Fargo.
He was born March 5, 1914, in Oriska, N.D., and attended school in Valley City, N.D. He married Lorraine Dixon in 1980. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo. Before going into the service he operated his own drayline business in Brainerd. He served in the Army in World War II. After the service, he worked at his drayline business for a while and then worked for Laurel Dairy in Brainerd. He also hauled boats for Crestliner in Little Falls and worked for Gustafson Lumber Co. in Brainerd. He was a member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion in Fargo. He volunteered at the VA Medical Center and University Manor in Fargo.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Dennis, Eureka, Mont., Lanny, Pillager, David, Brainerd, Karl, Fergus Falls, and Delbert Jr., Brainerd; three daughters, Mardell Hair, County Lane, Okla., Penny Saladie, Baxter, and Cindy Austin, Menomonee Falls, Wis.; a stepson, Donovan Lloyd, Salina, Colo.; four stepdaughters, Grace Stack, Riverside, Calif., Yvonne Scott, Brooklyn Park, Genevieve Kramer, Fargo, and Karen Meyer, Anoka; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Isabella, and Elaine Mosemon and Lorraine Teagar, both of Brainerd.
Two brothers, Edward and Chester, and a grandchild died earlier.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
Friends may call an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
