Much obliged

Harmony Engineers wonderful

Posted: Saturday, March 25, 2000

I wish to send a special thank you to Jody Crowe and the Harmony Engineers for hosting the wonderful evening of entertainment last Friday evening (March 10) at Tornstrom. It was such a delightful program with so much variety. I hope this will became an annual event.

Also, I shall miss Hal Anderson's "Hiking with Hal." This has been one of my favorite things to read in the Sunday paper.

Service groups generous

Because of the generosity of two area service groups, the unmatched children in the Kinship Partners program were able to enjoy some special recreational activities.

On Jan. 17, the Brainerd Optimist Club treated 11 children to dinner at the Sawmill Inn. Dinner was followed by games and prizes.

On Feb. 26, Paul Bunyan Bowl was the site of bowling activities sponsored by the Brainerd Sunrise Sertoma Club. Twenty-nine boys and girls were entertained with bowling, pizza, pop and treats.

Being a non-profit organization with a very limited recreation budget, the generosity of groups such as the two mentioned above enables us to offer a variety of recreational activities that we wouldn't normally be able to afford. Thank you, Brainerd Optimist Club and Sunrise Sertoma Club, for sharing your time and for your financial support that allowed us to provide our Kinship Partners kids with two terrific recreational opportunities!
