LaVallee captures win, Snocross series crown

Levi LaVallee of Longville won the final Pro Super Stock race of the season and captured the Amsoil Championship Snocross Series title last weekend at the Mountaintop Ski Resort at Geneva, Wis.

Before the grand finale the battle for the year-end championship was even between Garth Kaufman (Arctic Cat) and LaVallee (Polaris).

Coming out of qualifiers, the duo remained tied for the title, with each winning their respective heat races. Only Ryan Simons (Arctic Cat) had an outside shot to win the year-end title.

At the green, it was LaVallee who catapulted to the front of the pack. Kaufman emerged from a top-of-the-hill turn in seventh place. Close behind LaVallee was teammate TJ Gulla (Polaris) followed by Matt Piche (Arctic Cat) and Mathieu Morin (Ski-Doo).

Kaufman wound his way through the pack, moving up to fifth and eventually fourth. But LaVallee persevered for first place. Gulla finished second.
