Dispatch all-area girls' basketball team

The 2006-07 Brainerd Dispatch All-Area girls' basketball team features a future Division I volleyball player and eight underclassmen.

Players for the all-area team are nominated by their coach and then selected by the Dispatch sports staff.

Emily Mehr, Aitkin

Junior, center

Finished with 385 total points (14.3 points per game), 218 rebounds, 13 assists, 52 blocks and 25 steals. She shot 38.3 percent from the field and 69 percent from the free throw line.

Kayla Huether, Brainerd

Junior, guard

Finished with 516 total points (19.8 points per game), 94 rebounds, 50 assists, 53 steals and one blocked shot. She shot 36.1 percent from the field and 72.6 percent from the line.

Megan Bates, Brainerd

Finished with 275 total points (10.6 points per game), 123 rebounds, 102 assists, 51 steals and four blocked shots. She shot 45.3 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from the line.
