Marguerite 'Peggy' Goranson

MONTICELLO - Marguerite Jane "Peggy" Goranson, age 83 of Monticello and formerly of Brainerd, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital of St. Cloud.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church of Monticello. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery of Little Falls.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.

Peggy was born on Aug. 3, 1923, in St. Cloud, to Herbert and May Theilen. She grew up in the St. Cloud area and graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School. She then lived in St. Paul. She was united in marriage to Robert Goranson in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 2002. She made her home in Brainerd from 1957 to August 2006. She was very active in her churches, the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Brainerd and the Covenant Church of Brainerd. She loved camping, gardening and baking cookies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children; Richard (Barb) Goranson, Jane (Richard) Coleman, James (Jill) Goranson; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two brothers, William and Robert Theilen. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband Robert.
