PINE RIVER -- Irene Glover, 83, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at her residence in Pine River. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at The Warehouse, Pine River. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Willim-Northland Funeral Home, Pine River. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River. Irene Glover was born on Feb. 9, 1921, in Big Falls, Minn., the daughter of Leo and Minnie Alice (Lincoln) Glover. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. In 1938, she moved to the Pine River area where she married Floyd T. Glover. Along with her husband they owned and operated a dairy farm. They had been state fire wardens for over 50 years in Cass and Crow Wing Counties. They retired from farming in 1983. She had been a foster mother and had cared for over 50 children. She had been a 4-H leader and a member of the Nimble Needles Sewing Club. She was a member Riverview Church, Pine River. She enjoyed quilting, reading, baseball, traveling and bowling. Survivors include her children Butch (Donna) Glover, Smyrna, Tenn., and Melody (Brian) Bailey, Primm Springs, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Glover, Big Falls; daughter-in-law, Ravinia Glover, Pine River. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd (1988), son Darel, sisters, Mary, Ruth, Alice and Clara, and one brother, Leslie. Arrangements are with Willim-Northland Funeral Home of Pine River.
