County park officials are exploring what residents and visitors to Crow Wing County want to see in a park system.
Parks, trails and open space are the topics for a meeting seeking public comments in April.
The Crow Wing County Parks Department is hosting the first of two planned sessions from 7-9 p.m. April 20 at Mississippi Horizons School in Brainerd.
The meetings, with a second one planned for June 21, will give people an option to voice ideas on what the future may hold in regard to county parks -- both in terms of activities and the facilities to support them.
In addition, the county is already actively collecting comments from one of four demographics sought for survey input. Mike Kearns, county facilities and parks director, said 2,500 youth surveys are completed and more are expected. The three other demographic areas include a general population, senior and visitor surveys.
Two surveys are currently available at the county's Web site -- www.co.crow-wing.mn.us. The general population and senior surveys have yet to be added, but the Web site notes they will be available soon.
