Alison Seevers, the daughter of Stephen and Colleen Seevers of Brainerd, graduated from St. Cloud State University with cum laude honors. She majored in sociology and minored in community counseling. Currently she is a graduate student in the school counseling program at the university.

Kinsey House, the daughter of Debbie and Rick House of Clarkston, Wash., and formerly of Brainerd, was named to the fall president's list at Minot (N.D.) State University. She is a junior majoring in elementary education. House is a 1999 Brainerd High School graduate.

Katie Torbert, Richelle Maciej and Craig Vogl, all of Little Falls, are members of the University of Minnesota-Morris Concert Band that went on its fourth European tour this month.

Heather Meyers, the daughter of Phil and Connie Meyers of Nisswa, received an Achievement Scholarship Award at the University of Minnesota-Crookston for the 2003-2004 school year. Achievement Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $600 to $800 and are renewable for a second year. Meyers will be a 2003 graduate of Brainerd High School and will study equine industries management at the school.

Alex Hondl, the son of Kevin Hondl and Deanndra Eschenbacher of Baxter, was selected as the student of the month for February by the Youth Activities Committee of the Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615. Hondl is involved in Boy Scouts, football, track, student council and weight lifting. He plans to attend the University of North Dakota to major in physical therapy.

Megan Mahlum, the daughter of Jody and John Mahlum of Baxter, was selected as the student of the month for March by the Youth Activities Committee of the Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615. Mahlum is involved in basketball, volleyball, track, class cabinet and Key Club. She plans to attend California State University or Augustana College to major in sports medicine.

Jennifer Kulju, the daughter of Eric and Greta Kulju of McGregor, was selected as the student of the month for March by the Youth Activities Committee of the Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615. Kulju is involved in basketball, yearbook and National Honor Society. She plans to attend a technical college to major in graphic design.
