Morgan Shepherd was named most valuable player of the Brainerd Warriors boys' hockey team at Monday's banquet in the high school cafeteria.
Shepherd compiled the fourth-highest single-season point total in Warrior history with 27 goals and 27 assists. He also was voted the team's offensive player of the year and made the All-Central Lakes Conference team.
Other varsity award winners included defenseman Mike Solinger, who won the Hobey Baker High School Award.
Chris Peluso and Gregg Day received All-Central Lakes Conference honors. All-conference honorable mention went to Kiel Browne, Carl Sneep, Solinger and Joe Holden.
Scholar all-conference players were Josh Hanske, Solinger and Alex Impola.
The Warrior Award went to Alex Impola; Jake Carlson was named the most improved player; Peluso was voted the defensive player of the year; Holden won the Hoffman Award as the team's hardest worker; and Mike Baker and Sneep were named rookies of the year.
Morgan Impola and Brett Travica are the first two recipients of Tim Carlson Memorial Hockey Scholarships, which will enable them to attend Minnesota Hockey Camps in Nisswa this summer.
Junior varsity awards went to Morgan Impola, hardest worker; Matt Groen, most improved; John Williams, defensive player of the year; and Zach Barron and Jake Johnson, offensive players of the year.
