As time approaches for the Minnesota Department of Transportation to make their decision regarding 371's bypass to Pequot Lakes or go through town, I hope they use better judgment in making their decision than the people have so savagely decided that want it to go through town. The final decision will be based on safety and intelligence by the Minnesota Department of Transportation instead of for other reasons. Start buying some land, people, the highway will bypass. I've heard very little about the beautiful trees that will be destroyed between Nisswa and Pequot Lakes and forever change our scenic highway.

Fish house deadline

Why has the DNR left a fish house out on Gilbert Lake near the landing? I thought all fish houses had to be off the lake by March 1. Shouldn't the DNR confiscate that fish house?

Spring is here again

The chuckholes on Leisure Lane, Upper South Long Lake, Maple Grove Township, are again very bad. This has been a problem for many many years and no one can get it fixed. Last summer was the worst it has been in 30 years, I'm sure. It was so dusty, you couldn't see a car coming or going. What a fun trip down Leisure Lane.
