Brainerd High School boys' hockey defenseman Tim Conboy will play in the Great Eight tournament this weekend in Blaine.
Friday's game will be at the Schwan's Super Rink. Games Saturday and Sunday will be at the Columbia Arena.
On March 14, Conboy played in the CCM All-Star Game at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center. His Duluth area team defeated the Iron Range team 6-0.
Biebighauser MVP of Park Region
Brianna Biebighauser of Pequot Lakes has been named the most valuable girls' basketball player in the Park Region Conference.
Teammates Heather Neznik, Jeanna Baratto and Joan Ebnet made the All-PRC team.
Pine River-Backus' Sarah Laposky and Ann Marvin also were named to the team along with Beth Johnson of Pillager and Marie Kern of Verndale.

Honorable mention went to Julie Redebaugh of Pequot Lakes, Alli Faricy of PR-B, Nacole Carlson of Pillager, Nicole Roiko of Menahga and Krystal Tindall of B-H.
Seventh-grade boys in Pacesetter playoffs
The Brainerd seventh-grade boys' basketball team will play in the Pacesetter Region 6 basketball championships at Wadena this spring.
The Region 6 playoffs will be at the following sites: ninth-grade boys and girls April 8, eighth-grade boys and girls April 15, seventh-grade boys and girls April 1 and 5 and sixth-grade boys and girls April 29.
The Region 6 playoffs are part of the 8-region statewide Pacesetter Minnesota State Basketball Championships for grades 5-9. Winners of each region advance to the Whitney Center in St. Cloud to play for the overall Minnesota State Championship this summer.
Each regional tournament is limited to 16 teams. Entry deadline is the Saturday prior to the tournament.
