STAPLES -- Lloyd David Giddings, 94, Staples, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Greater Staples Care Center.
He was born Sept. 21, 1906, in Staples to Kellog C. and Millie (Savoy) Giddings. He attended school in Staples. He married Tracy L. Kennedy on July 27, 1933. He worked at the Northern Pacific Railroad as a conductor, retiring after more than 45 years. After his wife's death in 1964, he married Marion Willis Avery on Feb. 15, 1965. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as well as several railroad organizations, including the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks, the Railroad Trainmen and the Order of Railroad Conductors. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Jane Nelson, Portland, Ore.
His first wife; his second wife; and two sisters, Cleo and Clarice, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Lauren Germann officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
