Linden Hill history tour set April 2

LITTLE FALLS -- Learn about two lumber barons of Minnesota, Charles A. Weyerhaeuser and Richard Drew Musser, during a tour of Linden Hill in Little Falls at 1 p.m. Monday, April 2.

Participants will hear the history of the Pine Tree Lumber Co. and the Weyerhaeuser and Musser families, as well as tour these mansions of Morrison County.

Marilyn Brown will share stories of the families, and show antiques, original heirlooms and other treasures in these 103-year-old homes.

The cost for the history talk and tour is $8 per person, and the tour will last approximately 3 1/2 hours. Refreshments will be served. For reservations, call Linden Hill at (320) 632-4315.

S-M Community Education classes offered

STAPLES -- Staples Motley Community Education will offer the following classes. Registrations can be mailed to Staples Motley Community Education, 400 Second St. N.E., Staples, MN 56479 or call Julie at Staples Motley Community Education at (218) 894-2497.

Dog Obedience Course

Teach your dog to respond to your commands in this eight-week course at the Staples Community Center. Gordy will teach the course, which will run from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning April 3.

A copy of shots records must be brought to the first class along with a 6-foot leather leash and a chain training collar. These items will be available for purchase at class.

Cost is $37.

Retirement & Estate Planning

This class is appropriate for anyone who plans to retire, even if you are only 21, and for everyone who has concerns about how assets and family would be taken care of at incapacity and/or death.

This class will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 2 in Room 100 at Staples Motley High School. Cindy Meyer will be the instructor.

Cost $5.

Life's a Journey, Enjoy the Trip

Are you getting what you want out of life? What makes you happy and fulfilled? What values are most important to you?

This three-hour session will give participants the tools to put their lives in balance and identify their most important values that must be honored to be their personal best. Individuals, couples and groups are welcome.

Instructor will be Amy Hjelmeland. The session will run from 6 to 9 p.m. March 27 in Room 103 at Staples Motley High School.

Cost is $13.
