C-I's Tesdahl named MVP of Mid-State

Crosby-Ironton senior guard Bryce Tesdahl was named the Mid-State Conference Most Valuable Player and his coach Dave Galovich was named coach of the year by the conference coaches.

Caleb Nurnberger, Jordan Riewer and Derek Wolhowe of Staples-Motley were named to the all-conference team along with Pequot Lakes' Michael Ward and Michael Goerges, Wadena-Deer Creek's Matt Lepper and Donnie Tabery, Detroit Lakes' Adam Thielen and Park Rapids' Grant Dierkhising.

All five Ranger starters also were named to the all-conference team. They are Trevor Dickie, Tesdahl, Derek Swanhorst, Kody Bartels and Joe McLaughlin.

Tesdahl helped the Rangers to the Class 2A state boys' basketball tournament next week.

Prior to Tuesday's Section 8-2A victory over Pelican Rapids, Tesdahl was averaging 16.7 points, 10.0 assists and 6.3 rebounds with 79 steals for the 30-0 Rangers.

This is Tesdahl's second-straight conference MVP honor.

Jonas Dale of Pequot Lakes and Cory Asfeld of Wadena-Deer Creek earned all-conference honorable mention.
