ONAMIA -- The Ojibwe people traditionally have made a variety of items from the bark of birch trees.
April 12 and 13, with the assistance of an instructor, participants will construct their own birch bark basket. The two-day workshop will run noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mille Lacs Museum.
Cost is $25, or $20 for Minnesota Historical Society members. Preregistration and prepayment are required; call (320) 532-3632 to register.
