RED WING (AP) -- Dan Ludwig, a former national commander of the American Legion, said he thinks the people of Iraq will have a better life when the war ends.
He said he's bothered by the lack of support for the American goal, citing the United Nations.
"If there's an entity that has a significant history of failure, it's the U.N.," he said, and its failure to put teeth in previously approved resolutions regarding the Iraq situation.
He said he respects war protesters' right to express their views as long as their methods don't divert law enforcement resources.
