Windswept snow was buffeting the Southwest today, while rain slathered the Carolinas and a storm front whipped through the Rockies with strong winds and snow.
A storm system centered over the Tennessee Valley and Gulf Coast was expected to slowly move eastward, bringing rain to the Southeast, Tennessee Valley, southern Appalachians and lower Ohio Valley.
Rain and snow was forecast across northern Wisconsin and Michigan. Fog also was expected across Illinois, northern Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan.
A storm system pushing out of the Rockies was expected to bring blowing snow across the Dakotas, Montana, Utah and Nebraska.
