Boxing Saturday at Franklin

Fifteen matches are tentatively scheduled Saturday night as the Golden Lakes Boxing Club of the Brainerd lakes area will host a card in the gym at the Franklin Arts Center.

Five matches will feature boxers from GLBC.

Luke Zontelli, 125 pounds, will fight Jordan Lamere of the St. Cloud Boxing Team.

Nathan Scott, 110, will oppose Robert Maucieri, Fergus Falls.

Dylan Windorski, 220, will meet Jose Perez, Wadena.

Austin Polcaro of the Golden Lakes Boxing Club worked out Wednesday night. GLBC will host a card Saturday night at Franklin Arts Center.

Tom Fanjoy, 152, draws Matthew Jones, Fergus Falls.

And, Josh Holtz, 165, faces Victor Hernandez, St. Cloud Boxing and Wrestling Team.

Tickets: $6 adults, $3 ages 11-15, students 10-under free

One female bout is planned as well as two heavyweight matches. One heavyweight bout will feature Trent Patro, Wadena, and Travis Varney, White Earth.

"I'm proud of all the kids on the team, they've been working out hard," GLBC coach Thomas Schutt said. "It's not all about winning. It takes a lot of courage to get in the ring. I'm proud of everybody. They've been working out hard."
