LorRayne L. Austin
MERRIFIELD - LorRayne Lois Austin, age 84, resident of Merrifield, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at the Edgewood Vista in Brainerd. LorRayne was born on Sept. 13, 1924, in Brainerd to Edward and Laura (Schlichenmaier) Doepke. She married Lyle Austin on Dec. 7, 1942. LorRayne worked for Montgomery Ward for 30 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle, Merrifield; her son, Jeffrey (Mary Jane), Merrifield; her daughter, Laura (Donald) Baumgartner, Bemidji; four grandchildren, Michelle (Tony) Schaffer, Nathan Jordan, Jennifer (Jonathan) Anderson, Gregory (Sarah) Austin; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, Elizabeth, Ethan, Grace, Elijah, Ellianna and Cecillia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred, Jim, Desmond and Bill; sisters, Lila and Leona.
Services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009, at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will begin the hour before services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to Riverside Union Church.
