Rash of burglaries investigated
The Todd, Stearns and Morrison county sheriff's departments have investigated at least 26 burglaries since Jan. 10 and many of the burglaries appear to be connected, the Todd County Sheriff's Department reported.

ST. PAUL - Rep. Al Doty, DFL-Royalton, and Rep. John Ward, DFL-Brainerd, said they were pleased with the House DFL budget plan that was released Friday. The measure, DFLers said, would improve schools, give health insurance to uninsured children and provide property tax relief.

PEQUOT LAKES - Roger W. Crocker, age 72, of Pequot Lakes, passed away Friday, March 16, 2007, at his home.

Dennis Ohlsson
Dennis Ohlsson, age 79, of Brainerd, passed away early Saturday morning at the St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

Warriors finish fourth at state
Finishing fourth in the state tournament Saturday at Bloomington Jefferson High School wasn't the only award the Brainerd Warriors adapted floor hockey team brought home.

Kennedy has tenth-place finish
Senior diver Shaun Kennedy, a Brainerd High graduate, became Minnesota's first All-American diver since 2001, finishing with a strong 10th-place finish on the platform at the NCAA Championships with a career-best score of 370.35 in the consolation final.

Ebert, Abrahamson clinch WPSA titles
LAKE GENEVA, Wis. Dan Ebert, Kylie Abrahamson, and Earl Reimer clinched the Riders' Championship in their respective classes after Saturday's WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour Nielsen Enterprise Grand Finale.

Andrew Stearns was an offensive force for Wadena-Deer Creek hockey. For the Wolverines he scored more than 100 points in his prep career before heading to juniors. He spent three years at juniors before going to University of Wisconsin-Superior. After one season at UW-Superior, he transferred to University of Wisconsin-Stout and settled in for three seasons.
