The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55-plus Driver Improvement Course on the following days:
Four-hour refresher course, noon to 4 p.m. April 5, Emily Charter School, 39811 State Hwy. 6, Emily.
Four-hour refresher course, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30-9:30 p.m. April 5, Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.
Full course, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 7-8, Crosslake Community Center/Com. Ed., 14126 Daggett Pine Rd., Crosslake.
Eight-hour full course, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13-14, Pine River State Bank, 103 Mill St. South, Pine River.
Four-hour refresher course, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 15, Hallett Community Center, 470 Eighth St. NE, Crosby.
The driver improvement course is open to the public; however, pre-registration is requested. A Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center certified instructor teaches this class.
The fee for the four-hour refresher course is $20 and the eight-hour course is $24. For more information or to register call (888) 234-1294.
People age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law. First-time participants must complete two four-hour sessions. Repeat persons are required to take a four-hour refresher course.
