LOS ANGELES -- "The Contender" is offering $1 million and a four-year contract to the winner of the new NBC reality series. The show's high-powered producers hope they can offer more to boxing itself -- a return trip from its one-way ticket to Palookaville.
C-I grad a 'Contender'
Anthony "The Bullet" Bonsante, a 1989 Crosby-Ironton graduate who now lives in Shakopee, is one of 16 pro boxers appearing on "The Contender." The 34-year-old is sworn to secrecy about the series, which was taped in August and September in California.

I am responding to the recent letter "Go, C-I girls go!" that was printed in the Brainerd Dispatch on Tuesday, March 15. This exact same letter could have been written if the C-I girl's basketball team would have decided to play in the post season play-offs. I don't know the real reasons why the team decided not to continue playing and pursuing their dream.

The payroll for administration is huge. Don't touch them. Eliminate teachers instead. The ones who do the work.
