Election recount planned for Oak Lawn Township clerk office on Friday

Deborah A. Erickson, Crow Wing County auditor, announced there will be a recount of the votes cast on March 9 for the Oak Lawn Township clerk office in the township election.

The recount will be administered by the county auditor and will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in the Jinx Ferrari Meeting Room, second floor, Crow Wing County Courthouse. The recount is open to the public. The Oak Lawn Township Canvassing Board will certify the returns upon conclusion of the recount.

The election results had incumbent Judy Zelinske receiving 216 votes and challenger Judy Zettervall with 204 votes. There are 1,075 voters in the township and there were 424 votes cast in the March 9 election.

The discretionary ballot recount was requested by Zettervall. She will be responsible to pay the cost of the recount.
