The annual Job Fair co-sponsored by the Brainerd Lakes Area Chambers of Commerce and Rural Minnesota CEP will be 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
Job-seekers are encouraged to visit with representatives of organizations, many of which are offering full- and part-time employment opportunities, at this free event. Those looking for work should be prepared to submit a resume and interview for jobs.

Bemidji's Olson named to 3 state commissions
ST. PAUL - Sen. Mary Olson, DFL-Bemidji, was named to three commissions recently by the Senate Rules Committee.
The first-term legislator will serve on the Minnesota Indian Affairs Council, the newly formed Legislative Commission to End Poverty in Minnesota by 2020 and the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement.
The Minnesota Indian Affairs Council serves as liaison between the state and the 11 tribal governments within the state. The Legislative Commission to End Poverty in Minnesota by 2020 has until the end of 2008 to create a strategy to eliminate poverty in the state. The Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement studies state public pension plans.
Fast Cop high school challenge set May 20
Fast Cop Inc., the Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club and the Brainerd International Raceway will host the annual High School Challenge from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on May 20 at the raceway.
The challenge is open to licensed drivers age 16-19 who are enrolled in high school with a street legal vehicle to race. There also will be open bracket racing, manufacturer booths and vendor tables for those not involved in the challenge.
